Sherry became involved with
Art in the early 1990's in Montreal.
After retiring and moving to their cottage on BassLake,
she acquired a Certificate of Fine Arts from St. Lawrence College in
Brockville. As a newcomer to the studio tour, Sherry became involved with
pottery in 2000 when she took a course at St. Lawrence College and she
continued to work with Westport potter Shirley Johnson until 2004. While
she still considers herself an avid beginner, she enjoys the hands-on
experience with the clay and the surprises that come with every kiln
firing. The feel of the pottery and the many varied colours of the glazes
are unique to this art form and she has come to appreciate the talent of the
many excellent potters in this area
